Roark has a lot to be thankful for. His heart stopped while he was driving on a busy road. Thanks to his son, a policeman and a passing nurse, he lived.
Roark, 57, said he remembered not feeling well last Sunday when he was driving home after taking his 15-year-old son to look at cars in another city. "Next thing I knew, of course, I was in the ambulance to the hospital," Roark said.
Bohlen said he was a policeman, that day he saw a car stopped in the middle of the road. And then he saw a boy opening the door. The boy was crying, "Dad is having heart attack".
Bohlen went up to Roark and felt for a pulse, but he couldn't find one. So, Bohlen pulled Roark out of the car and began doing CPR. Worrying about the coming cars, he looked up. But all the cars stopped and waited.
Once he found a pulse, a passing nurse, Jane McCurdy, came over to help. And then the ambulance came.
