Over 650 runners from more than 30 countries went for this year's marathon in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK朝鲜) on Sunday.
Marathon in DPRK was open to foreign tourists for the first time in April 2014.
Runners began to run from the starting line in the Kim Il-sung Stadium(金日成体育场) and passed city center in the cheers of Pyongyang(朝鲜首都平壤)people before going back to the Kim Il-sung Stadium for the finish.
Although the DPRK and US were not good friends, it didn’t stop the American runners to come and run for the Marathon.
"This is the first time I came to the DPRK. I was happy I finished the 10-kilometer marathon in the cheers of the kind Pyongyang people," said Deng Lei from Shanghai. There were 150 Chinese runners in the Marathon this year.
