Two sisters met by chance on the first day of a writing class at Columbia University（哥伦比亚大学）- more than 30 years after they went to different homes.

Lizzie is now 35, and Katy is 34, and they were strangers before they met at the school. As students talked about themselves on the opening day, Lizzie’s words were familiar to Katy's.

Katy said she tried her best to find out more about her mother and her sister, but without luck. Katy decided to talk to Lizzie after class. "I worried that she'd think I was cheating her," Katy said. "But I didn't want to let her get away."

Lizzie is from New Jersey（新泽西州）, she said: "When she asked some personal questions, I began to believe her". Katy grew up in Florida（佛罗里达州）and Iowa（爱荷华州）, Lizzie told her that she found their mother, Leslie Parker, a few years ago. The two went to a bar and began to get to know one another.

Ms Parker is 54, she now lives in Rhode Island（罗得岛州）, she said she will meet her other daughter, Katy. All three will meet on Monday.
