Leukaemia(白血病) is a kind of cancer(癌症). A lot of children get this kind of cancer all over the world. A girl got Leukaemia a year ago. Her name is Lily. She is only twelve years old. She is very sad about her Leukaemia. She is afraid to go to school. She doesn’t want to see anybody. Doctors tried many kinds of ways to help her, but all the ways didn’t work.

The doctors had to try something new. They took healthy cells(细胞) from the girl’s body and put in some genes(基因). The genes can kill cancer in the girl’s body. They also took out DNA from the cells, so the girl’s body could not see them. The new way worked and the girl is much better now. Her mother said that she is strong now, and she goes to school happily. Doctors must have to work hard so they can use the new way to help more and more people.
