In China, different animals represent(代表) different meanings, so which animal can best represent China? Maybe you would say the panda because it is Chinese national treasure. But there is another animal that can really represent China and even Chinese culture—the dragon. Many Chinese schools in China are decorated with the symbol of China. No one has ever seen a dragon—even I doubt if there is a dragon in the world.
The dragon is the symbol of emperor in ancient times, and the dragon is great, because it got the respect of all the Chinese people. In China, the dragon is a miraculous(不可思议的) animal. Even now we call ourselves descendants of the dragon, and we are proud of it. But in the westerners’ view, the dragon is a snake, and no one is positive and beautiful. It is a strange thing. The online “Dragon” pictures are also particularly terrible.
Cultural differences generate in both backgrounds, so we must pay attention to these differences so as not to make a joke. Going to Chinese school in China can have a full understanding of the differences between Chinese and Western culture. It is very useful for foreign friends who want to live in China.
