Susan was a shy but clever girl. She wore glasses when she was very young. Some of her classmates made fun of her big glasses. So she had the nickname, “Four Eyes”. It was given by Lewis. She acted like she didn’t mind, but in fact Susan couldn’t stand it.
One day, the class visited some famous caves. The children were walking towards the caves, when Lewis fell down. While falling, he caught Susan who was walking next to him. Both of them fell down into a very big dark cave(山洞). They only could see little light from the cave roof. Susan and Lewis shouted for help, but no one came.
The next morning they still hadn’t been found. Lewis continued shouting for help, and no one answered. He felt scared.
It must have been noontime. Susan noticed that the light landed on the floor in front of her. Quickly, she took a piece of wood using her glasses to focus the light onto the wood. Then they had a torch. Lewis watched all this with surprise and excitement. They use the torch to explore the cave. Finally they found a way out. Lewis thanked Susan many times.
He knew that she couldn’t stand people calling her “Four Eyes”, and now he felt sorry for having given her that name. Lewis told everyone what had happened, and from that day on there was no longer any “Four Eyes” at their school.
