Edgar has everything. He is healthy. He has a beautiful wife. He has three clever children. He has a big house with a swimming pool. He has three cars. He has a very good job. He goes on holiday three times a year. But he is not happy. Edgar has a very good friend. His friend, Larry, doesn’t have everything. He isn’t healthy. He doesn’t have a wife. He doesn’t have children. He doesn’t have a big house with a swimming pool. He doesn’t have a good job. He never goes on holiday. But he is happy. Edgar doesn’t understand why Larry is happy when he doesn’t have anything.

Edgar and Larry meet. They speak about life. Edgar asks Larry to tell him his secret(秘密) of happiness. Larry thinks Edgar must be happy because he has everything. But Edgar tells him this is not true. They do not understand this. They agree to think about this more. They will meet more often to speak about life.
