A girl called Joan has won her battle against the school rules. What was the battle about? It's about whether girls should wear pants at school. Joan is fourteen years old and is a student at Whickham High School. Joan wore pants when she was at her elementary school, but she wasn't allowed to wear them when she went to Whickham. Joan was unhappy because she was cold in a skirt in winter. But the school didn't change its rules about uniforms. Joan's mother contacted the school because she thought the rules were not reasonable(合理的）. She said that pants are warmer in winter. Finally the school changed the rules. Now Joan and the other girls at Whickham are allowed to wear pants. Joan says that she's delighted.
