北京大学大力支持雄安新区发展

Peking University said it would fully support the development of Xiongan New Area. Xiongan New Area is a new economic zone about 100 kilometers to the southwest of Beijing. Peking University will open a medical center there to train high-level professionals.
    The university will use its strengths in medical and educational training to help Xiongan grow. The university will also encourage more people to work in Hebei.
     Among other measures, the university’s Guanghua School of Management will set up a training center in Xiongan. It will also work with government departments to start Public-Private Partnership programs for Xiongan’s development.
    On April 1, China announced the plan to create the Xiongan New Area. It is made up of the counties of Xiongxian, Rongcheng and Anxin in Hebei Province. Hebei is also home to Baiyangdian, a major wetland in northern China.
     The new area will cover around 100 square kilometers at the beginning and be expanded to 200 square kilometers in the mid-term and about 2,000 square kilometers in the long term.
