Shankar was a poor man. He made a living by cutting down trees to make wood. One day, he was going through the forest, carrying some wood. He saw an old man who was very hungry. Shankar wanted to give him some food, but he did not have food for his own. So he continued on his way. Later he saw a thirsty deer. He wanted to give him some water, but he did not have water for himself. So he went on his way ahead.

Then he saw a young man who wanted to make a camp, but he did not have any wood. Shankar gave some wood to him. In return, the young man gave Shankar some food and water. Then Shankar went back to give the old man some food and the deer some water. The old man and the deer were very happy. Shankar then happily went on his way.

Another day Shankar fell down the hill. He was in great pain, and he couldn’t move. Luckily, the old man saw him and pulled him up the hill. He had many wounds on his legs. And the deer went to the forest and brought back some herbs(草药). After some days, all his wounds healed(愈合). They all were very happy because they were able to help each other.
