It takes 3,000 years for a tree to blossom. It takes another 3,000 years for the flowers to bear fruits. And these kid-shaped fruits wait for another 3,000 years to turn ripe.

Do you know Journey to the West? It is one of China's most famous literature works. In this work, there is a special kid-shaped fruit. People call it “ginseng fruit”. However, we can see these special fruits in our real life now.

In Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, people sold these kid-shaped fruits at 20 yuan for each one. In fact, they are a kind of melon called solanum muricatum. It is also a kind of solanaceae perennial herb.

They don't have a natural kid shape, but people make them into the special shape. They put them into a special mould when the fruit starts to grow.
