In 1966, Indira Gandhi was the first female leader in India. At present, there are fifteen women as heads of government. It is less than eight percent of the 193 members of UN(联合国). Eight of the fifteen were their country’s first female leader.
Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is from Liberia. She was the first female leader in Africa. She became the leader in 2005. “Women should work harder than men for becoming a leader. It would be a long time,” she said.
