Claire is 12 years old. She lives in Leicester. When she was seven years old, she started going on walks. She joined the Ramblers Association with her parents, Martin and Karen.

They took their two German shepherd dogs（牧羊犬）for walks. Claire says, “There are a lot of footpaths（小路）near where we live. Now we go walking all year round.”

Claire’s first big walk was the Leicestershire Round. It is 11 miles. 

When they joined the Ramblers, Claire’s dad thought some of the walks would be too much for her. But Claire made his dad Martin surprised. She was so great. Claire’s friends at school think she is a mad（疯狂的）girl. 

Claire says she loves being outside with her family. She loves seeing all the colors of the flowers and everything. And walking makes her so much healthy. She thinks it is a really good idea to get other kids of her age to walk.
