Shenyang Palace Museum is one of the two palaces which are China’s only existing imperial palace compounds(现存皇宫建筑群). The other is the Forbidden City in Beijing. China’s longest-running dynasty—Qing Dynasty—got started here. Although Emperor Shunzhi moved the capital to Beijing after the Ming Dynasty was overthrown(推翻) in 1644, Manchu culture is the main part here. It was the home of dynasty founder Nurhaci and his son Huangtaiji. And Emperor Shunzhi was born and took the throne(即位) there too.
A tour of Shenyang Palace Museum offers visitors three routes—east, central and west—each built by Nurhaci, Huangtaiji and Qianlong, respectively(分别地). If you are interested in China’s ancient history, you should have a look at Shenyang Palace Museum.

How to Get There: Take Metro Line 1 to Huaiyuanmen Station and walk about 10 minutes. Or take buses 117, 132, 140, 251 or 292 to the Gugong Donghuamen Station.
