     During the APEC meeting, Chinese President Xi Jinping planted trees with other leaders of APEC on November. 11. It marked the friendship in the APEC family. The event also showed that the APEC members pay high attention to protecting environment and green development. They all hope friendship among APEC members can grow together with the trees.
     Also on Tuesday, Nov. 11, President Xi Jinping’s wife, Peng Liyuan invited some wives of APEC leaders to tour the Summer Palace in Beijing. Peng's guests were in Beijing with their husbands. They took a boat tour in the Kunming Lake. They also watched dancing and Peking Opera performances and visited a folk art exhibition. At last they took a photo together to wish for lasting friendship among APEC members.
     At the end of the meeting, China also prepared cultural gifts for these leaders. The four gifts are a golden key, with a white marble base holder, a silk painting and a calligraphy set. These are very special gifts. The key, along with the marble base means the Chinese saying 'Jin shi wei kai'. The other two gifts also show Chinese culture. The four presents come in a red box, the idea of the red box came from the red gate of the Palace Museum.
