燃烧我的卡路里!天津大学开设“减肥课”


"Hold on! Five seconds left!" Twenty students gathered in a circle and held a plank in a gym in northern China’s Tianjin University. It was a course offered by the university. The course can make students lose weight. And they can earn two academic credits or additional awards such as bikes and swimming cards if they reach a weight-loss target.
"I ate a lot but seldom did exercise on campus," said a sophomore student with the university. He hopes to shake the fat off and become handsome. He joined the 21-day weight-loss course. The course was open to students with a body mass index over 26.
"We provided various courses including kickboxing, yoga and qigong ," yoga teacher Jin Shiyu said. Eating too much with high amounts of fat and calories and doing little exercise have led to an increase in obesity. Obesity has become an increasingly serious problem in China. Statistics released by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention in 2017 showed that 30 percent of Chinese adults are overweight, and 11.9 percent obese.
