Chen Penbin is a young Chinese man from a fishing village in Zhejiang Province. He has now finished ultra marathons(超级马拉松) on all seven continents and won the first place in the Antarctic Ice Marathon.

All over the world only less than 100 athletes have finished ultra marathons on seven continents. Chen is one of them. After November’s competition in the Antarctic, he became the only athlete to have run over 100 kilometers in each of these seven ultra marathons.

The Antarctic Ice Marathon is one of the harshest races Chen has ever run. The temperature was almost below -30°C, the athletes had to run in the so cold weather. And this year’s ultra marathon experienced the worst weather. However, Chen finished the race in 13 hours, 57minutes and 46 seconds, taking first place. Although he was unable to break the record of about 11 hours, he achieved an amazing life dream by finishing ultra marathons on seven continents during four years and five months.

"I have many dreams to achieve since there are so many competitions in different countries. I hope that I can run until I’m 56 years old, and if I fail in doing so, I have no problem going back to be a fisherman again," Chen said.
