In recent years, doctor - patient relationship crisis has become an increasingly serious social problem in China. Patients are skeptical about the doctors’medical morality and professional skills. Doctors are afraid that they may someday been sued to the court. The distrust between the patients and doctors has been widening the gap between them.

As you can see in the picture, several doctors and nurses are taking pictures of themselves after the seven-hour surgical operation. In the picture, Zhen Xiaoju, a surgeon from Feng Cheng hospital in Xi’an, has been criticized by many internet users for the picture she posted online. Some of them are fired and some of others are taken three-month bonus away. 

Zhen Xiaoju explained, “They took the picture just to celebrate the success of seven-hour surgical operation and say goodbye to the old operation room.” 

Some of the internet users accused them for lack of medical morality; some blamed them for the disrespect to the patients; some criticized them for their lack of discipline; some accused them just because they are well-fed doctors and nurses. 

The gap and misunderstanding between the doctor and patients need to be properly handled.
