吝啬的蜘蛛和聪明的乌龟
Anansi is a spider (蜘蛛). He hated to share! One day, a hungry turtle (海龟) came to his house for lunch. He didn’t want to give the turtle food. He said, “You need to wash your dusty feet first!”
Turtle walked to the river to wash. When he came back, the plate was empty (空的). “Good meal,” Anansi said. “Come to my house for dinner tomorrow,” said Turtle.
The next day, the turtle cooked a fine dinner at the bottom of the river. “Come on down and eat!” he said. Anansi put some stones into his jacket pockets. So he would be heavy enough to stay at the river’s bottom and eat. “It’s not polite to wear a jacket to dinner!” Turtle said, “Take it off!”
But when Anansi took off his jacket, he went back to the surface (表面) of the water and hungrily watched Turtle eat!
