Red wolves (红狼) live only in the USA. They are coming back now.
A zoo in Washington helps red wolves. The zoo cares for their teeth. Bad teeth make it hard for them to eat. There are only about 270 red wolves. Most of them are in zoos. Only 20 wolves live in the wild in North Carolina. The zoo’s vets (兽医) clean the wolves’ teeth and make sure they are healthy.
Wolves in the zoo live longer because they see the vet often. In the past, red wolves lived in many places. But now there are not many. People are working hard to protect them and put them back in the wild.
