Doctors in New York did something really amazing. They finished the first whole-eye transplant (全眼移植) in a person.

The surgery (外科手术) lasted 21 hours. The person, Aaron James, still cannot see with his eye. The new eye is not talking to the brain yet. But the eye seems healthy. Dr. Eduardo Rodriguez is very excited about this. Doctors never think that this will be possible (能实现的).

Aaron had an accident (事故) at work. A part of his face was hurt. Scientists hope that this opens doors for future successful eye transplants.
