Vic and Roy are best friends. One day, they went to a beach together. On the way, the two friends had a fight. Vic beat (打) Roy in the face. Roy was hurt. But he did not say anything at that time. After they arrived at the beach, Roy wrote on the sand — “Today, my best friend beat me.”
After some time, they enjoyed themselves at the beach. They ate some sea food. Later, they went into the water to swim. After a short time, Roy started to drown (溺水). Vic saw it and saved him. Then, Roy found a stone and wrote on it — “Today, my best friend saved my life.”
Vic asked him, “Why did you write on the sand then and write on a stone now?” Roy answered, “Because water can take words away from the sand, but nothing can words away from a stone. I just want to remember the good thing you did to me. You are always my best friend.”
