Wang Ximeng was born in 1096. He was very good at painting. When he was only 18 years old, he finished the painting “A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains”.
The painting is 51.5 cm high, and about 12 meters wide. It only took Wang Ximeng about half a year to finish it. It’s painted on a piece of silk (丝绸). It shows mountains, rivers, villages, and nature. It also shows the activities (活动) of many people.
Wang died when he was only 23 years old. You can see his great painting in the Palace Museum (also called the Forbidden City), Beijing.
