天瀑是“添瀑”?亚洲第一高瀑景区回应!

China’s Yuntai Mountain Waterfall is generally regarded as Asia’s most impressive waterfall and is often described as a natural wonder. Recently, it has been exposed for having pipes that create an artificial water flow.

Yuntai Mountain Waterfall is the most popular scenic spot in the Yuntai Mountains, drawing millions of tourists annually. The tallest waterfall in Asia (a sheer drop of 314 meters) offers a breathtaking spectacle that has recently been said to be the result of modern technology. A Chinese vlogger managed to make his way to the top of Yuntai Mountain Waterfall, where he saw large metal pipes feeding water into the waterfall. At first, the popular video of the discovery was criticized as fake, but sources from the Yuntai Mountain Scenic Area acknowledged that the waterfall is slightly enhanced to ensure a pleasant experience for tourists.

Apparently, Yuntai Waterfall does not have a high water flow during the dry season, so the management decided to help it out with a few pumps and pipes to enhance tourists’ experience. On June 4th, the Yuntai Mountain Scenic Area explained through its WeChat public account that the waterfall is a seasonal attraction and does not have abundant water all year. To ensure its attractiveness during the dry season, “a small improvement has been made with the help of water pumps and pipes”.

One online observer took to Douyin in support of what he or she viewed as a well-intentioned practical solution: “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the pipes. On the contrary, I’m touched by the local government’s efforts for this scenic site.” “As a paid site marketed as a natural waterfall, tourists have the right to know the truth; otherwise, we feel cheated,” another person said. “Whether artificial or natural, as long as the scenery is beautiful, it’s enough,” said a third.
