There is a saying, “People feel sleepy in spring, doze in summer, and feel tired in autumn.” As the weather gets cooler during End of Heat, many people feel tired. This means the body needs rest because people used a lot of energy in the summer. To help, you should get enough sleep, do more exercises, and keep plants indoors.
The night-blooming cereus (昙花) is a mysterious flower that often produces flowers during End of Heat. This is because of the warm days and cool nights. They are similar to weather in tropical (热带的) deserts. The night-blooming cereus comes from tropical deserts from Mexico to Brazil in South America.
Duck has a sweet flavor and in Chinese traditional medicine, it has a “cool” nature. A tradition is to eat duck during End of Heat. There are many ways to cook duck, like roast duck, lemon duck, smoked duck, etc.
For fishermen, End of Heat is a harvest time. The Fishing Season Festival happens in places along the East China Sea in Zhejiang province. The festival is on the day when the fishing ban ends, and fishermen can fish again. Because of high sea temperatures, many fish remain and grow. People can enjoy many kinds of seafood during this time.
