The online concert started at 8 p.m. and ended around 11:30 p.m. It has attracted over 52 million hearts and gained over 600 million likes.

Dao Lang’s real name is Luo Lin. His hometown is Luoquan Township in Zizhong County, Sichuan Province. Dao Lang thought himself an ascetic (苦行者) in the world of music. When he was 16 years old and had yet to graduate from secondary school he went to Neijiang to learn to play keyboard instruments. Two years later, he toured Chengdu, Chongqing, Tibet and Xi’an for more than four years in bars. He did not spend a single day in a university.
In 1995, he met his wife as a singer in Hainan. Her family name is Zhu and she is from Xinjiang. When he arrived in Xinjiang with his wife, he knew nobody and did not know what to do. So her wife let him listen to music. The music from Xinjiang inspired him a lot so he decided to do something.
In 2001, he published his first disc, but only a little more than 2,000 discs were sold. Then he traveled to the Gobi Desert to meet Uygur people and study their music. He wrote three to four songs a day, and over a year he wrote more than 1,000 songs. He published another disc, Songs from the Western Region. The songs are all old ones sung by Dao Lang but written by others. Songs from the Western Region became a hit instantly. Many people fell in love with his unique voice. He combined the bold and rough Uygur music with the high pitch of Sichuan opera, creating something different.
