致力攻克皮肤癌的15岁少年
Heman Bekele is 15 years old. He sees people in Africa working in the hot sun for a long time. That makes it easier for them to get skin cancer (癌症). And that often costs a lot. So Heman thought of a cheaper way: a bar of soap with a skin-cancer medicine.
To get help, he took part in a 3M’s competition last year in 2023. He sent a video explaining what he had in mind. Soon, he was named the winner and got the support he needed. Since then, he has been working on his idea.
It could take years before the soap can be bought by people. But the 10th grader is hard-working. Over the summer, he spent every weekday in the lab. “It’s so wonderful to think that one day, my bar of soap will be able to do good to someone else’s life.”
