    We all know the routine: work/study all day, come home, relax a bit, and then start dinner. For most of us, dinner is finished by 7pm at the earliest. But a new study says eating that late can be bad if you want to lose weight. Here is everything you need to know about the new dinner time study.

    What is the best time to eat dinner for weight loss?

    The Harvard study found 5pm to be the best time for dinner because of how the body’s metabolism (新陈代谢) functions for the average person. One of the main reasons is that eating dinner early stops you from getting hungry and snacking later. The study also found people burn calories slower if they eat later. Why? Because their metabolism slows down in the evening. This makes it harder to lose weight.

    Is there other evidence?

    There are some experts who can back up the claim that eating dinner earlier is better for you. One such person is functional nutritionist and CEO of Flo Living Alisa Vitti, who explained that the later you eat, the harder it is for your food to digest (消化). She explained: “Eating too close to bedtime can decrease the quality of your sleep, and make losing weight harder.”
