女孩用爱心午餐温暖人心
In 2021, Elaina Johnson started to feed hundreds of people. At that time, she was only 7 years old. She made lunch bags for homeless people. Each bag has a sandwich, a piece of fruit, a drink, and some chips.
Helping others comes naturally to the young. “I saw that there were a lot of people who needed food,” Elaina said. “At the time, I didn’t understand why.” But she knew she wanted to be part of the solution. She said, “As soon as I could help, I wanted to help.” Elaina is now 10 years old. She continues to fight against hunger.
This past July, Elaina was awarded as a food hero. It’s an award to young people who are fighting hunger. Elaina is the youngest person to receive the award this year.
