It is 2024 now. Pourliakas is 88 years old. He started to run marathon at the age of 73. On Sunday, he crossed the finish line of a marathon (马拉松) in Athens, Greece, the birth place of marathon. He finished it in 6 hours and 31 minutes, 18 minutes faster than last year.
Many people find it hard to believe that an eighty-eight years old could still be racing. “Why wouldn’t you believe it?” he asks with a smile. “We all can do it — as long as we want to.”
