Sichuan’s special cultural symbols are becoming popular around the world. Three important examples are Dao Lang’s music, Li Ziqi’s countryside lifestyle videos, and director Jiaozi’s Ne Zha cartoon films.
Dao Lang is a Chinese musician who combines traditional and modern music. His songs, like The First Snow of 2002 and Luocha Haishi, use easy-to-understand words and memorable tunes to share stories about life. The song “Luocha Haishi” became popular on foreign music platforms because of its interesting cultural stories and easy-to-remember tunes. Countless fans from other countries sang their own versions of the song and shared their ideas about it. This shows how Sichuan’s music is spreading around the world.
Li Ziqi’s videos show the beauty of Sichuan’s villages. She records traditional farming, cooking, and handmade skills. Her videos have been watched billions of times online, letting people from other countries see the quiet and beautiful life in China’s countryside.
Director Jiaozi’s Ne Zha films are important achievements in Chinese cartoons. The first movie, Ne Zha: Birth of the Demon Child, became very successful because of its exciting story and the theme of “never giving up”. The second movie, Ne Zha 2, shows more about Sichuan’s culture. For example, characters speak in Sichuan’s local language, and some scenes are based on old Sichuan places like the Sanxingdui Ruins (遗址). Jiaozi’s personal story of leaving a medical career to pursue animation — also shows Sichuan’s creative ideas.
These cultural works help the world learn about Sichuan’s traditions and new ideas.
