争做文明好游客 当为友善旅行人

Bad tourists can block sights, damage the environment, and make life hard for locals. So, how can you be a better tourist? Here are some tips.

In Barcelona, some people got a bus route removed (去除) from Google Maps because it was too crowded with tourists. This made it hard for locals to get home from work. As tourists, you can try to understand why locals are upset. You can visit anywhere and try to make positive effects on the place.
Do some research before you go. This will help you enjoy your trip more and show respect for the locals. Remember, you’re visiting someone else’s home. Showing respect gets you respect. Learning a few words in the local language is a nice gesture and helps a lot.
Slow tourism means spending more time in a place, learning about the local culture, and meeting local people. Instead of just visiting the city, spend time in the countryside too. For example, if you visit Jingdezhen, visit the traditional craftspeople and stay a few nights in the area.
Everyone wants to visit famous places like Paris and Rome, but exploring less-known places can be even more fun. Robert Frost once said: “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” Richard Hammond, who started Green Traveller, says, “When I went to New Zealand, I found 10 less-known walks instead of the famous ones. There was almost no one on them and the scenery was still pretty amazing.”
