Neil’s son was going to be 2 years old. For his birthday, Neil picked a wooden cottage (小屋) near a mountain forest. They stayed there for 2 days.
On the first day, Neil’s son made friends with a dog. He gave the dog some cookies. The dog stayed close during the birthday party in the woods.
The next morning, the adults went hiking (徒步旅行). The boy stayed indoors with a babysitter (临时保姆). When the adults returned, they saw blood on the dog’s mouth. They thought it hurt the child. So they were angry. They wanted to hit the dog.
Just then, the babysitter ran out with the safe boy. She explained: A wolf came, but the brave dog fought it off! The blood was the wolf’s, not the boy’s.
