优秀青年榜样闪耀！第29届“中国青年五四奖章”评选揭晓

China gave 30 individuals and 30 organizations the China Youth May Fourth Medal to honor their efforts in the nation’s modern construction and development. This event began in 1997. The yearly prize is considered the top national award for teenagers and young adults aged 14 to 40. It aims to motivate young people to work hard and contribute to China’s growth by commending some outstanding young role models. The awardees come from various professions and industries.

Journalism and Cultural Preservation
Zou Yun, a 37-year-old reporter from China, has become a trusted voice in international news coverage. Her in-depth reports on global affairs and cultural exchanges have bridged understanding between China and the world. Meanwhile, Chen Lijun, a Yue Opera performer at a theater in Zhejiang, uses her artistic talent to revive traditional Chinese culture. Her performances blend classic Yue Opera styles with modern storytelling, inspiring younger generations to appreciate intangible cultural heritage.
Robotics and Technological Innovation
Wang Xingxing, founder and CTO of Unitree Robotics in Hangzhou, represents China’s rising tech pioneers (先锋). Born in 1990, Wang leads breakthroughs in quadruped robotics, creating swift robots used in industries including logistics (物流) as well as disaster rescue. His work positions China at the forefront of intelligent manufacturing. Another person, Leng Xiaokun, heads Leju Robotics in Shenzhen. Leng’s humanoid robots have revolutionized service industries, showcasing how youth-driven innovation fuels national progress.
Aerospace (航空航天工业) and National Defense

Zhu Yangzhu, a 39-year-old astronaut, embodies China’s space exploration ambitions. Trained in extreme environments, he contributes to crewed space missions and lunar research programs. In aviation manufacturing, Feng Panlong, a chief riveting technician at Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group, ensures precision in fighter jet assembly. Feng is also a hands-on instructor for new trainees. He assists the company in organizing skill training programs, taking on the responsibility of passing down his craftsmanship. He actively shares his experience with more technical talents to cultivate the next generation of skilled workers.
