China gave 30 individuals and 30 organizations the China Youth May Fourth Medal to honor their efforts in the nation’s modern construction and development. This event began in 1997. The yearly prize is considered the top national award for teenagers and young adults aged 14 to 40. It aims to motivate young people to work hard and contribute to China’s growth by commending some outstanding young role models. The awardees come from various professions and industries.
Journalism and Cultural PreservationZhu Yangzhu, a 39-year-old astronaut, embodies China’s space exploration ambitions. Trained in extreme environments, he contributes to crewed space missions and lunar research programs. In aviation manufacturing, Feng Panlong, a chief riveting technician at Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group, ensures precision in fighter jet assembly. Feng is also a hands-on instructor for new trainees. He assists the company in organizing skill training programs, taking on the responsibility of passing down his craftsmanship. He actively shares his experience with more technical talents to cultivate the next generation of skilled workers.
