巨型草莓为以色列农民赢得一项吉尼斯世界纪录
A farmer in Israel grows a very big strawberry. It makes a world record. The strawberry is 18 centimeters long. It is heavy, too. It weighs 289 grams. A normal(正常的) strawberry is 24 times lighter. The second biggest strawberry in the world grew in Japan in 2015. That strawberry weighs 250 grams.
How is it possible that the strawberry is so big? The weather is colder than usual. The sun doesn’t shine so much. The fruit doesn’t ripen(成熟) so quickly. So it grows bigger.
The farmer sees that the strawberry is very big. He thinks that it might make a world record. He picks the fruit. He puts it in a freezer(冰箱).
The man takes it out of the freezer. People from the Guinness World Records help weigh the strawberry. It says that his strawberry is the biggest in the world. Now he shows it to everyone.
