In front of 18,000 fans at Dong’an Lake Sports Park, the final match of the 2025 League of Legends World Championship reached its peak. T1, led by their captain Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, beat KT Rolster with a score of 3-2, winning the championship trophy. This exciting match, called the “Telecom War”, ended with T1 standing on top again — their sixth world title in history.
This was only the fifth time a Worlds final went to the fifth and deciding game, and the first under the special “fearless mode”. What made this win even more special is that T1 became the first team ever to win three years in a row, having taken home the Summoner’s Cup in 2023 and 2024 too. This great achievement proved they are the best in the game.
Many people thought T1 would win because of their great past records: they had got to four straight finals and were defending champions twice. Four key players of their “miracle team” were also on the team. But KT Rolster didn’t make it easy. In almost every game, T1 fell behind early. KT controlled the game’s speed well, never letting T1 take the lead in the first part of the matches. This forced T1 to make quick, smart plays to stay in the game.
KT won the first round with a strong early performance, but T1 fought back with better team fights after 18 minutes and turned things around. KT got organized again in Game 2, kept control of the whole time, and won to tie the score 1-1. Game 3 was close too — KT started well, but T1’s courage helped them change the result in the middle of the game. After that, T1 never slowed down. They changed their strategy to win Game 4, then made sure of the championship in a powerful Game 5 with a strong team arrangement.
