Caroline Deville lives in a small town in Louisiana. She worked as a paramedic (护理人员) for 28 years. She helped many people. But for weeks, she had no electricity (电) or running water in her home. She couldn’t pay the bill.
In September, a TV station shared her story. Soon, kind people helped her. Neighbors and many other people gave donations (捐赠). They helped pay off her bill.
Deville was very happy. She got electricity back and took a hot shower. She cooked a meal that afternoon. She said she was thankful for everyone’s kindness. They really changed her life.
