It was a lovely morning, a perfect start for Jack's birthday. Mum and Dad prepared a birthday cake and a basket of food. Jack carried the cake himself. The whole family got into the car and headed for the 1 .
After arriving there, Mum and Dad found a nice place for a picnic. They put up the tent and spread out the beach blanket(毯子). Jack 2 the cake and played the game, Treasure Hunt,with his parents on the beach.
When it was time for lunch, Dad went back to the car to 3 the basket of food. But it wasn't there. Dad said Mum put it in the car. Mum said Dad did it. They became 4 .
“No worry, Mum and Dad,” Jack broke the silence.“We can sill 5 the cake.”
Mum picked the cake up, but tripped (绊) over the blanket. The cake fell onto the sand.
“No way can we eat the cake now,” Mum sighed(叹气).
“Mum, I'm not hungry yet,” Jack said.
A moment later, dark clouds came and it began to rain. The family 6 packed up everything and decided to leave.
Dad made a(n) 7 ,“We' ll have a big meal on the way home.” But later they found the only restaurant on the way back was closed. Mum and Dad were a little sad. Luckily, Jack 8 many jokes that could cheer them up.

“We can have a picnic now!” Jack said with joy.
“A perfect end for my 10 ,” Jack thought to himself.“Well, OK, maybe it wasn't quite100% perfect. But it was never boring!”
