内蒙古包头举办“躺平大赛”
On November 15, 240 people gathered at a shopping center in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, to take part in an unusual competition.
The rules were simple: competitors needed to lie flat (躺平) on a mattress (床垫). They were allowed to roll around, read, eat, or use their smartphones, but they could not stand up or even use the bathroom. The last person remaining lying down would be the winner.
The competition had no time limit. Within the first 24 hours, 186 competitors had been eliminated. Those who remained agreed to progressively (逐步地) stricter rules. After 33 hours and 9 minutes, only three competitors were left. Two minutes later, one was out. The final two lasted another 20 minutes, until at the 33-hour and 35-minute mark, one gave up, and the other became the winner.
