Wang Zhizhi is a famous Chinese basketball player. Recently, he received a special honor. He was chosen for the 2026 FIBA Hall of Fame. He is the fifth person from China to get this award.
He was born in Beijing. In 1994, he started playing for the Chinese national team. He helped the team win many games. The team got eighth place at the 1996 and 2008 Olympics. They also won the Asian Cup four times and the Asian Games three times.
In 1996, he was the youngest player on the Olympic team. He scored many points and got many rebounds. The team’s eighth place was a very good result for China at that time.
Wang Zhizhi made history in 2001. He became the first Chinese player to join the NBA. He played for teams like the Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat. This was an important step for Chinese basketball.
