刷新世界纪录!南非K3滑索带你解锁飞鸟视角

Have you ever dreamed of flying like a bird through mountains? In 2024, the world’s longest zipline (滑索), called the K3, opened in South Africa’s Western Cape. It was built by SA Forest Adventures and Mossel Bay Zipline after six years of hard work. Now, thrill-seekers can speed through the beautiful Overberg Mountains at up to 150 km/h!

Finding the perfect place wasn’t easy. Clinton Lerm, the owner of SA Forest Adventures, spent two years looking across South Africa. He needed a place that was both safe and easy to access. One day, he saw a mountain with a road already leading to the top — it was the perfect starting point for the zipline. But before building it, his team had to study the wind and make careful plans.

To begin the adventure, you can either hike or take a 4×4 truck to the launch platform, called The Nest. After a safety briefing, you’re attached to the cable and sent flying across 3.2 kilometers. The start feels surprisingly slow, but soon you pick up speed, and the mountain views become a blur (模糊形状). As you near the end, the zipline slows down, and a staff member helps you land safely.

A ride on the K3 costs about $100. Riders must weigh between 40 kg and 120 kg, be in good health, and should not be under the influence of alcohol (酒精). And the excitement doesn’t stop here — the company is planning a 5-kilometer zipline to keep their world record!
