情人节诗歌|鹊衔爱意,诗咏情长

① The Birds’ Gathering
Geoffrey Chaucer
For this was on Saint Valentine’s day,
When every bird comes there to choose his mate,
Of every kind that one could possibly think;
And such a loud noise they began to make,
That earth and sea, and tree, and every lake
Was filled with sound — so great the crowd that hardly
There was enough space for one to stand an inch.

② Jenny Kiss’d Me

Leigh Hunt

Jenny kiss’d me when we met,

Jumping from the chair she sat in;
Time, you thief, who love to get
Sweets into your list, put that in!
Say I’m tired, say I’m sad,
Say that health and wealth have miss’d me,
Say I’m growing old, but add,
Jenny kiss’d me!

③ Queqiao Xian
Qin Guan

Clouds float like works of art;

Stars shoot with sadness at heart.
Across the Milky Way the Cowherd meets the Maid,
When autumn’s cool wind breathes soft, and drops fall like jade.
Their soft love flows like a stream;
Their happy date seems but a dream.
They look at each other with endless love,
Though they live far apart, above.
If love between both sides can last for forever,
Why need they stay together night and day?
