历史突破!中国代表团冬奥创佳绩

The 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics ended on February 22. The Chinese sports delegation did a great job, winning five gold, four silver and six bronze medals. This is the best result that China has ever got at an overseas Winter Olympics.

What made this success even more special was the way Chinese athletes won their gold medals. Each victory told a different and exciting story.
Some athletes realized their dreams after years of hard work. Su Yiming gave himself the best birthday gift ever by winning gold in men’s snowboard slopestyle (坡面障碍技巧) on February 18. Wang Xindi, in his third Olympics, finally stood on the top step of the podium with a perfect jump in men’s freestyle skiing aerials (空中技巧) on February 20.
Other athletes made history with their amazing performances. Xu Mengtao became the first woman to keep her Olympic title in women’s freestyle skiing aerials on February 18. On February 19, Ning Zhongyan set a new Olympic record in men’s 1500m speed skating, ending the long dominance by European and North American athletes.
Then there was the perfect ending. On the final day of the Games, Gu Ailing showed true champion spirit. After a small mistake in her first run, she stayed calm and scored 94.75 points in her last run to win gold in women’s freestyle skiing halfpipe (U型场地技巧). Her teammate Li Fanghui took the silver, so China got both the top two places.
The Chinese team’s success in Milan shows that winter sports in China are growing fast. More young athletes are coming up, and China is becoming stronger in more events.
