“洋抖”200万+帖子疯传!阿根廷年轻人集体“变动物”

On a recent Sunday, a park in Buenos Aires (布宜诺斯艾利斯<阿根廷首都>) turned into a wild place for a special group of teenagers. Sofía, wearing a dog mask, ran across the grass on her hands and knees. Nearby, 15-year-old Aguara jumped through the air, copying the moves of a Belgian (比利时的) dog. Others, dressed as cats and foxes, sat in trees and watched the curious people around them.

These teenagers are part of a group called “therians”. They are people who say they feel like animals in their mind or spirit. This trend has become very popular on social media in Argentina. On TikTok, the hashtag “#therian” has more than 2 million posts. Argentina has more people joining this trend than any other country in Latin America. Some people laugh at it, some feel confused, and some even get angry. Psychologists have also started to study this new phenomenon.

Aguara, who feels like a Belgian dog, says she is just like any other teenager. “I wake up like a normal person and live my life like a normal person,” she said. “I just have times when I like being a dog.” Another teen, 16-year-old Aru, wore a seal mask at the meetup. She said she does it just for fun and not because she truly feels she is an animal. For many young people in Argentina, this movement gives them a place where they feel they truly belong.

So should parents worry? Psychologist Débora Pedace says that identifying with an animal is usually fine. “It becomes a problem only when a person truly believes they are an animal and may hurt themselves or others,” she explained. For now, most of these teenagers are simply having fun and finding friends who understand them.
