Chris lives in Australia. One day, Chris’s wife, Linda, left the house. Their dog, Sally, got outside. Chris went out to bring her back. But after a few steps, he fell to the ground. His heart suddenly stopped.
Then, Sally started to bark. She barked loudly and would not stop. Some women working at a nearby store heard the noise. They came out to see what was wrong. They saw Chris on the ground. One woman quickly called 000, the emergency number in Australia.
At the same time, a driver passed by. He had just learned CPR. He stopped to help Chris. Then, another lucky thing happened. An off-duty paramedic (护理人员) named Brendan lived right next door. He came to help, too. He gave Chris important medicine.
Soon, more helpers arrived. A helicopter took Chris to the hospital. Doctors there helped him get better. Chris thanked everyone. He thanked the store workers, the driver, the paramedic, and of course, his dog, Sally. Because of them, Chris is alive and doing great today.
