At the Zhongguancun Forum 2026, Beinao No 1, a smart brain-computer interface system independently developed in China, was officially exhibited.
Beinao No 1 has completed seven cases of human implantation with remarkable results. One patient with quadriplegia was able to control a robotic arm with his mind just five days after surgery. One year later, he can use his own hand to pick up a strawberry and put it in his mouth. Another patient, paralyzed in the lower limbs for five years, showed improved muscle strength and was able to walk with assistance after rehabilitation training, with significant improvements in several physical indicators.
A registration clinical trial for Beinao No 1 has now been launched. More than 30 clinical trials will be conducted this year at over a dozen medical institutions across the country. After market approval, it will provide a new treatment option for more patients.
