One day, people got on a Southwest Airlines flight. Before the plane took off, a flight attendant (乘务员) spoke over the speaker. She said there was a very special little boy on the plane.
His name was Cruz. He was only 2 years old. One year ago, Cruz had a very bad illness called cancer. It was serious. His family traveled from California to New York many times for his treatment. Now, great news came: Cruz was healthy again. There was no more cancer in his body. He was going home with his family.
The flight crew wanted to celebrate this happy day. All the passengers joined in. They wrote warm notes to Cruz. The notes were full of love and best wishes.
Cruz’s parents were very moved. They would never forget this moment. Little Cruz even smiled and said, “I’m strong.” He was so brave.
