In recent years, Chinese companies have kept breaking new world records by organizing wonderful drone (无人机) light shows at night. These shows have amazed people all over the world.
In June of last year, a company in Chongqing set a record by flying 11,787 drones at the same time to light up the sky. Months later, another company used 4,060 more drones than the first show and broke the record. But it too only held the record for a few months, as in February this year, a company from Guangdong set a new record with an amazing show of 22,580 AI-controlled drones.
On February 3, 2026, people in Hefei, Anhui Province enjoyed a fantastic light show. The Chinese drone company EHang Egret sent up 22,580 drones. Using AI swarm intelligence, the company controlled all drones perfectly, with no collisions (碰撞). The drones formed beautiful 3D patterns like Chinese lanterns and city views in the sky.
