A mother ladybug lays sticky eggs that look like tiny jelly beans. She hides them under leaves to keep them safe from other animals. She also makes sure very small insects are nearby. In this way, when the baby ladybugs come out of the eggs, they can have enough food to eat at once.

An elephant mother uses her trunk to gently guide her baby forward. If the little one falls down, she will help it stand up. When taking a bath, she sprays (喷洒) water over her baby with her trunk. Best of all, she often gives her calf loving pats with her long trunk.

A mother emperor penguin leaves her egg with the father penguin. Then she travels up to 50 miles to the sea to look for food and eats lots of fish. When she comes back, she feeds the newly-born chick. She feeds it by bringing up food from her stomach to the chick’s mouth.

These animal moms really know how to look after their little ones!
