Mount Etna is a volcano(火山) in Sicily, Italy. It is the tallest volcano in Europe. It is 3,357 meters tall. Mount Etna is very active(活跃的). It is active almost all the time. Only sometimes, the volcano stops.

Mount Etna is near the city of Catania. The volcano was very dangerous in the past. People wrote about it 3,500 years ago. It erupted a lot. To erupt means that lava(熔岩) and smoke come out of it.

Etna was very active in 2021. It erupted 11 times in three weeks. The volcano got 30 meters higher. Etna erupted this February. People could see an orange river of lava at night. And even some planes couldn’t fly because of it. Last week, the volcano erupted again. Luckily, no one was hurt and no house was destroyed(毁坏).
